calgary abc is announcing two new support campaigns.

splitting the sky
on march 17 splitting the sky (also known as john boncore) was arrested in calgary for attempting to serve former u.s. president george w. bush with a warrant for war crimes. he was charged with "obstructing a peace officer" and has been released on a $500 surety. splitting the sky intends to fight the charges.

abc calgary is committed to helping splitting the sky through acts of solidarity and financial assistance.

mikhail miller
mikhail miller is an anti-racism activist who participated in the march 21 anti-racist action demonstration against the aryan guard in calgary. although mikhail has not been charged with any crime, he has been issued with $887 in bylaw tickets and fines. it is common practice in calgary for the police to 'ticket to death' activists they wish to harass. mikhail is commmitted to fighting the ticket charges.

abc calgary will be assisting mikhail financially for his lawyer fees to fight his bylaw charges.

Lily went to the doctor on

Lily went to the doctor on Wednesday for her 4 year old check-up work from home. It was a terrible trip. Lily is, for some reason, absolutely against the scale at the doctor's office. We had to weigh me once holding her and once not and subtract the numbers to figure out how much she weighs. She weighs in at a whopping 27.5 lbs. She's 40 inches tall. She wouldn't stand up next to the ruler so we had to make her lie down and mark the paper, like they do for babies. It was ridiculous. She did let them take her blood pressure, which I think would have been the thing to be scared off, but I reminded her of her doctor kit and how we take the baby's blood pressure. She sat very quietly while the nurse took hers car insurance. She had a finger prick and 3 shots. She screamed bloody murder when she got the shots, but she was fine after about 15 minutes. She did get what I think was a mild case of the flu from her flu shot. She was out of school Wednesday through Friday. She got to say home with momma 2 days and daddy one day. She's feeling much better now and is back at school mortgage.

I never take pictures anymore, but you can visit Aunt Sonny's page for some recent ones of her and Lily. All I want to do these days is lie around or sleep. Hopefully my energy will return in a couple of weeks. I go back to the doctor next week for another ultrasound, so maybe I'll get out the camera and be able to post pictures of both of my kids then homes for sale!
